Vintage Edgeworth Slices in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09). Got an early Christmas present. A good friend I hadn't heard from in some time called me to tell me why. He's had a very tough time with a lot of bad things in his life and hid from the world. He's putting it back together enough to reach out to people again, and I was the first person he called. The call ended up on very happy notes. Hope anyone who is in his position will do the same. It would be the best Christmas present you can give to a friend who cares about you.
A bowl of C&D Pegasus in my first ever pipe, a MM Legend, with a later-added lucite stem. This blend has grown on my immensely since I first tried it, and is now one of my favorite burley blends. Not overpowering in the N department, which is somewhat atypical for C&D burleys in my experience (and I like that!)
Watch City Deluxe Crumb Cut in a 2015 Basil Meadows smooth straight thin shank and stem with an aluminum band Bing Crosby Merchant Service replica.
Jim's Va/Bur #1 in the first pipe Trever Talbot made when he went to France many years ago. It's a smooth straight Algerian briar Billiard bowl with a long Canadian stem, unbranded.

Merry Christmas!
I woke up to the smell of my wife's annual breakfast bake. You layer light (almost pastry-like) dough in a pan, then put in your whisked eggs, then whatever add-ins you want. I like mushroom, country sausage, black pepper, sharp cheddar, and sage. Bake until it's cooked through and serve with raw, lacto-fermented pepper sauce on top, a giant cup of black coffee on the side, and A Christmas Story on TV!
She also dropped this on my lap...

It's a Neerup Ida. The pics don't do the stain justice, it's more of an orange-red and yellow which contrasts beautifully with the sandblast. And that stem! It's pretty well known that I enjoy colored stems. This is a mix of beige, yellow, aqua, turquoise, green, grey, and brown. I cannot wait to light this puppy up!
Just finished smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem.
