Not the right pipe for this tobacco, but a fine pipe nonetheless. First night I've been able to countenance a fire. It's 59 degrees at 2300 hours.

It's begun.
Woke up to 8 inches of snow on the ground. It started last night. I went out to pick up some ingredients to make my patented eggnog, as well as some champagne and wine for the upcoming holiday, bits & pieces of other things we needed around the house, and groceries, as well as to hand out some cigars to people on my naughty list. Walking out of one store you could really feel the cold and damp in the air. Walking out of the next you could see some tiny flakes slowly falling. By the time we were walking out of the next the flakes were so big and coming down so hard you couldn't see across the parking lot.
It's always fun driving in the first real snow of the year, I passed two (minor) accidents on my way home and of course my wife was freaking out that we were going to spin out and slide off the edge of the earth... This time of year always makes me wonder: do people forget how to operate their car in the 7-8 months since we last had snow? I swear, every ounce of common sense and any self-preserving driving techniques gained one year are gone the next for at least the first few weeks that snow is on the ground.
Packing an extremely small bowl of Plum Pudding and heading out to shovel the steps. Then we'll see if the sidewalk and driveway are bad enough to justify breaking out the snowthrower.

The last of my stash of HU Sissinghurst in a 2003 IMP horn Meer.
Some very aired-out Ennerdale (6 months in a plastic bag, forgot about it) in a little Dublin. It's still tasty, but a lot of the Ennerdale essence is gone, which I do miss.
