Weather is starting to chill here in Upstate NY so my cigar output decreases and pipe output increases. Scotty's Butternut Burley in the Stanwell.

Puffing a 50/50 mixture of F&T Blackjack and The Mallard (Dan Tobacco) in my old Kirsten. Both are tasty Virginias. Blackjack is rather zippy, while TM is very mild. A nice blend.

I opened a 5 yo tin of Capstan Medium (blue tin label) yesterday. Puffing that now in my old Kirsten. Good stuff, and fairly zippy for a dark Virginia.

Puffing Patriot Flake (Dan Tobacco) in my old Kirsten. A blend of tropical and US Virginias that have been press fermented. Perique is also press fermented, but uses a variety of Burley.

Puffing Solani 660, Silver Flake, in my Mark Tinsky billiard. I discovered the 660 a few months ago, and regret that I didn’t discover it years ago. I guess that it’s the “dark fired Kentucky” that sets it apart. I now have quite a stash of it on hand.

BTW – here’s a very unusual Dunhill bulldog — I’ve never seen the like of it before:

It ought to be cool in hand.

Had some Rattray's Hal o the Wynd in a cob earlier today.

Now enjoying a bowl of SG Full Virginia Flake in a Peterson Donegal Rocky.

Dunhill Nightcap in briars the last couple evenings. Haven't had this in a long time. My open tin went empty and I didn't want to open a new one. Finally caved and opened one... now to jar it up...

I just received five 50g tins of Solani 333, Festival. Puffing a fill of it now in my Tinsky billiard. Festival is the only aromatic I’ve found that I really like. Good tobacco, and the flavoring isn’t too intense. At first I thought that I liked Solani 369, Blue Label, too, but changed my mind.

I also received five 100g tins of Solani 660, Silver Flake. Maybe my favorite tobacco, ever. Surprising that such a good tobacco is usually in stock. I suspect that the fact that it’s only available in 100g tins puts people off. That put me off for a long time.
