But even with the occasional pipe purchase you will still spend far less on pipes and tobacco than you would on cigars... unless you go nuts, of course. What did that pipe run you? Less than $100? Provided you don't lose or break it, it'll last the rest of your life. Now what's a box of decent cigars cost? And how long will those last?

Just to clarify, what I'm saying is not: 'see how much money you're saving?' What I'm saying is: 'feel free to buy more pipes!'
lol I know how the enabling works around here! Yes with discount it was under $90 which i thought was a steal and meant it was destiny to come home with me.

Those of you who've been on the pipe side of the forum know I lost my job about 5 months ago. It's been kind of a rough 5 months. A lot of husting to make ends meet, but we did it!
I accepted an offer today making more than my previous job! For those of a like mind, praise the Lord! It seems like it's been forever!

Smoked a 2010 Arturo Fuente Opus X in celebration of finally getting a new job, and later a bowl of Dubar.

For those who messaged me during this past months, thanks for the good words and support!
Once we get some good solid ground under our feet, it will be time to start back on building that cellar!

That is fantastic news Bryan. I know how stressful it is to be unemployed.
I was laid off suddenly in '09 and it took a while to recover. I know the feeling of both being there, and knowing that you're on the path back.
    Cheers.

Second bowl tonight, trying something new I bought this past weekend. I sprung for a tin of RO Acadian gold.

I've been wanting to try that but it's pricey and I certainly don't need any more tobacco.
I'd ask how it was but nothing tastes very good in a new pipe IMO so what's the point. Pipe break-in is miserable.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Yes its a work in progress for sure, I am going to give the Acadian a go in a different pipe tonight or tomorrow. In hind sight trying my first bowl of it in that pipe was probably not my greatest idea, but I was so excited about both it didnt occur to me. I don't think I have ever had a blend like it or similar to it yet in my short piping career so I can't compare it to anything. It's not super over the top in any one area just a really good smooth enjoyable smoke even in a new pipe.

A couple of days ago I opened a 3 yo tin of F&T Cut Virginia Plug. Puffing that now in my old Kirsten Mariner. CVP is an excellent Virginia flake with a tasty topping. Like all F&T flakes that I know of, there are two neat rectangular stacks side by side.
    Cognition?
    On.
