Rattray's all have a Scottish origin, you are correct.
Ken McConnell wasn't quite sure which of the Rattray's formulas were originally created by Rattray or McConnell except for Red Rapparree and Marlin Flake that he felt were McConnell created formulas. In truth, since McConnell made the Rattray line for many years the formulas were all changed perhaps many times over the years so that they were McConnell formulas but that doesn't affect it's origin. Of course the Rattray line is made by Kohlhase in Germany since 1989.
Ken McConnell felt that the Red Rapp was one of his finest creations. I do too. Make mine German! Open the Rapp!

Hmph, I guess I have been too plain. I assumed you referred to the name McClelland, which is of Scottish origin, and Rattray's is obviously of Scotland.
Tut tut! I'm off to open some Red!
...or maybe I should save it considering recent legislation..

I'm a convert, always buy more for so many reasons that are not ageing. It's a very personal investment - you know the value.
Pardons, I took you too literally. Carl Ehwa founded McClelland and in 1977 that looked more impressive on a tin than Ehwa. but I don't know if the name has any significance.
