At the shop by myself this morning tied up between starting the days orders and stocking the rest of the product that came in yesterday, plus dealing with an extremely brisk walk-in business so far this morning (odd given the downpour & wind), and the phone going off the hook, and trying to get ahold of any contact I can pull out of my address book to find a rare lighter for a customer, and...

Don't do this! I am already hopelessly buried in debts of gratitude to members of this forum that I can't repay as it stands! I'll get off my butt this weekend and order some RY and what have you. Until then, the University Flake is doing fine. I need pipe cleaners anyhow. At the moment, I'm puffing away on the 4Dot diplomat full of UF. Excellent!
I know its early, but I like this stuff....

Another fine tobacco not available here in the States, a la Ilsted's Own Golden Flake. It's a shame, really. I would give half of our Lat blends for just a handful of the seriously tasty VA flakes sold overseas.
And on that note, I'm stuffing some Hamborger Veermaster into a pipe. I wish I could buy a 10lb tub of this and a 10lb tub of Capstan.

Funny, that. I have no idea who you are; got a bit of brain disease last year and it cost me, amongst other things, a lot of my memory - big blank spots.

In fact I was enjoying my Hackert last week enough that I bothered to take a picture (above) of it. Reviewing visuals each day help me remember new things and often kicks old memories back in place. A day or two later I was looking at the Hackert picture and wondered if I didn't have two of them; went looking around for quite a while and finally decided I only ever had one. SO, thank you! Nice to find out there was a second pipe and someone is still enjoying it. This is the lighter side of brain damage. It appears I have sent a lot of pipes to people, which is good. By way of balance, I keep finding pipes and have no idea when or where they came from. :D
So, glad you like it - they really are tremendous pipes. Only wish I knew who to thank.
still smokin Cornell & Diehl..Happy Holidays
Just polished off a bowl of Newminster Norway in a clay. About to fire up another.
That's hard to hear, Dan. I'm sorry for the troubles but glad you're still around!
We used to converse on Puff quite a bit. As I was just getting bit by the pipe bug you sent me a welcome package of the Hackert, a handful of great blends to try, a Cuban cigar or two, and my very first bouchon de semois which was an eye-opening experience (I need to get more of them!). In exchange I sent you an antique cow salt & pepper set! You were extremely generous with your tobacco, obviously, but also wisdom and wit which was invaluable, and for that I thank you.
