Opened a 2015 tin of Sixpence today. Such an intoxicating aroma! And a tasty tobacco!

Managed to lay my hands on a 1/2 kg box of G&H Louisiana Flake. Going to smoke a small bowl at lunch to see if the Lakeland perfume is too much for me. Some of these G&H blends need a grannystink exorcism before they're fit to smoke.

I had some of that aging for a couple years. Still tastes like baby powder!

Then I suggest that you try Fribourg & Treyer “Blackjack”, an untopped ready-rubbed Virginia. Too tart for me straight, but I use a bit of it to brighten-up dull tobaccos.

This batch is better than the last. Aging doesn't help unless you age it in a semi-sealed condition, i.e. in a mason jar with the lid disk upside down. Need to keep an eye on the moisture tho, you don't want it to get too dry.

I've tried the upside down lid trick, but can't get that taste out. The floral note dies down, but it still tastes like baby powder. Same with the Rum Flake, Bob's Chocolate, etc.

Well yes, it doesn't totally go away but usually it fades to the point where it's at least tolerable. Mine gives a whiff of baby powder at first but seems it's pretty well gone (or you're numb to it) by the time the first 1/4 of the bowl is gone.

Earlier today I put away a couple of bowls of Esoterica Dorchester while winding down after a grueling 5K, LOL

It's a charming VaPer but I can't fall too much in love with it as I've only got an inch or so of it left in the jar & my work no longer takes me to Charlottesville, VA on a regular basis, on which trips I would frequent the store that stocks it.
