Dunhill Flake and Wessex Classic Virginia are two of my favorite Virginia’s, but both were tasting a bit tart today. So I opened my jar of Solani Aged Burley Flake. That hit the spot. I don’t smoke a lot of ABF, but sometimes it’s just The Right Stuff.

The other day I mentioned that I'm having some of Tobias' old Blue Train tobacco. Well, it burned the [expletive deleted] out of my tongue, hurt for about 3 days. So... I let it dry out for a few days and thought I'd try it again, which I just did. Still burned the [expletive deleted] out of my tongue, just not as bad. Still not worth it. Into the English Ivy it goes
Y'all might be thinking Bruck, you can't throw away perfectly good tobacco (don't worry, I'm not); send it to me instead (no, I don't want it to burn the [expletive deleted] out of your tongue either).

In the last 12 hours, I've smoked four or five bowls of Condor in various pipes. Love this stuff. Mowing the yard with a push mower, 6/10ths of an acre. Had to come in and take a break and make some iced tea. One of my push mowers (the lighter one that I use for trim) wouldn't start after being stored through the winter. After wearing out my shoulder trying to start it, I put some enzyme stuff in the tank and pulled the rope 6 or 8 more times to get it into the carburetor and went and cut grass with the other mower. After about an hour, I tried the other mower and it started right up!

What?!? Where's the 'Don't Like' button? I just LOVE it when they taste tart. I wish I could find a blend where that initial sour note they sometimes have would last all the way to the bottom.

Earlier, F&T Vintage. Now a fill of Hamborger Veermaster. Both in my Luciano squat bulldog. Both tasting exceptionally fine today. Next up: Lunch, which will feature a Westminster Rustic Red cheddar cheese sandwich on German-baked pumpernickel.

Then I suggest that you try Fribourg & Treyer “Blackjack”, an untopped ready-rubbed Virginia. Too tart for me straight, but I use a bit of it to brighten-up dull tobaccos.
