Now smoking 1970s Union Leader in a 1990 smooth medium bend Nording freehand sitter with a wider top than bottom that also has a ridge and a narrower bowl resembling an upside down spout, with an amber colored lucite stem with cream swirls. I'd hate to repeat that three times fast!

Another cold morning, maybe climbing to 40˚F later. At least the sun is shining, so we'll get a little melt, but not much. The streams, Lake Delta, the Erie Canal -- still frozen on the last day of March. sigh. Another bowl of BBF in the Legend Forever. I am really tired of white.

A nice old Missouri Meerschaums Granddad with 8 slices of Peter Stokkebye Luxury Twisted flake. One of the most naturally sweet tobaccos on the market to the point guys mistakenly call it Aromatic topped with Vanilla. Not so, just pressed and cured Virginias to magically delicious.

Hi Craig,
8 Flakes! You might be a granddad by the time that you're finished with that bowl .
I just tried this flake for the first time recently. Interesting twist in the flake that makes for some variation in packing.
Luxury Twist is described (P&C) as having a mild essence that I smelled and tasted (maple) . You're right that it's not an aromatic and it's sweeter than other Stokkebye flakes like Luxury Navy and Bull's-Eye and it's well made like they are. A nice tobacco without sticker shock.

Man, you guys are making me start fleshing out my next order already, and I haven't even received the last order!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this is the best group of enablers around!

Hi Bryan,
I'm so old school that we reviewed tobaccos as UGH or Ugh . Facial expression helped but not only was there no Internet, we'd yet to discover the sonic value of seashells. This is why I shouldn't review tobaccos but I did an impromptu review of Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake and the gist of my comments was that it was well made but ugh :/. I've changed my opinion of that tobacco as well as the other PS flakes.
The three Peter Stokkebye flakes that I've tried are Luxury Navy, Bulls Eye and Luxury Twist. I now have a few pounds of the first two and a few ounces of the Twist. All are well made. All are well behaved and consistent smokes. They're subtle, smooth and burn well. Not big flavor and lots of nuance but tasty and a an excellent deviation from more aggressive fare. All are very good values and you can buy them for under $2.00/oz and that makes them solid values. Pipes & Cigars is the cheapest but it appears that they're repackaging bulk so there will be broken flakes (not a problem for me) while 4Noggins was more expensive but less broken on arrival.
When I was new school, I liked to hunt with a bowl and my sabre tooth comrade, Blurg, and these type of flakes were very popular. This Stokkebye trio are worthy successors to those tobaccos that people now pay small fortunes for little tins. I have no idea how it ages. Ugh .
