Ah, sorry, I meant Ogden's [edit - NOPE, I didn't, I meant Middleton's] Walnut. I never did try it, I kept putting off buying a jar and then one day - poof. Gone.
More importantly, Walnut-Walnut might be coming back to the States with Bruno?

2016 is shaping up to be a hallmark year! Now if only Condor, Warrior Plug, and Punchbowle would get on a boat and float over...
Cool cool! See, I'm much too lazy to read through descriptions of bulk tobaccos to see if they're meant to be a match. You did the work for me. Thanks!

Going out to brave the cold. Snow actually stuck to the ground today. Hail stuck, too. I'm not ready for the change.
Loading half a Missouri Meerschaum bowl of Erinmore crumbs from the remainder of a tin marked October 2008. At least I think. Maybe, when I go to my temporary pipe workstation, I'll decide on Paul Olsen's B93 from a tin that's marked either - I forget - '99 or '01.
I certainly need to do that.
I'm trying to slowly build up a cellar of pipe tobacco. I've got some SJF from the inaugural group buy we did when the Bum first got started, a little bit of straight VA tobacco and a little English stuck back. If I could stop buying cigars, I'd be able to build a cellar faster.
If you want the Middleton Walnut Match, then you must try P&C's Mid-Town Chestnut. It virtually is Walnut. Go to Tobaccos Reviews and read mine. I was the taste tester for the Mid-Town series, and they did their best job on the hardest one to match: Walnut.
Now smoking HU Asmara in a smooth medium bend straight grain 2000 Winslow C silver spigot wide top Dublin with a canted plateau and black acrylic stem.
Bob's Chocolate Flake in my Hardcastle billiard. Not sure I'm getting a lot of chocolate, or latakia for that matter, but this sure is nice stuff.
Just finished a bowl of PS Lux Navy Flake in my DG Savoy, I rubbed it out this time but packed it a bit tight.Little bit of tongue bite but otherwise a good smoke on a cool evening.
I'm working on the same thing! Except I've managed to put a halt to the cigar purchasing.
I do need to put up a couple more boxes of FVF... and St. James flake... and Navy flake (not to mention a lot more that I'd like to store up)
Little by little, we'll get there!

Heine's Blend in the very first pipe I ever bought ($2.49) in 1974; a smooth three quarter bend Dr. Grabow Omega.
A disappointing bowl of my whiskey pipe. It smells great, like you're sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows with a drunk in the background, but the flavor just isn't there... Not sure if I should just walk away from this - trying my hand at aros - and concentrate on normal blends, or keep at it.
You probably have to use an extract. I'd imagine whiskey itself probably doesn't have enough of the actual whiskey flavor to stick around after the alcohol and water evaporate off. Maybe try something like this --> Amazon.com : OliveNation Bourbon Whiskey Extract 4 oz. : Natural Flavoring Extracts : Grocery & Gourmet Food
OTOH, @Tobias Lutz sent me a sample of some whiskey blend flake he made a while back (he called it 'whiskey gogo') and it was really good. I hate the taste of actual whiskey - it all tastes like used paint thinner to me - but the flavor in the tobacco was noticeable and went well with the smoke.
Smoker’s Pride Rich Taste in a 1970s medium bend smooth Ben Wade Golden Walnut freehand.
I was thinking about that. I want to get a semi-usable Lakeland essence ready to spice up boring tobaccos, so when I look into that I'll order some other extracts to play around with.
In the meantime, I found about two bowls worth of 2001 Erinmore Flake buried underneath some other stuff this morning, so that's what I'm smoking. This stuff is jet black.
Oh that's an easy one. You can buy that stuff right at the grocery store.

Burley picks up flavor easily (case) but not Virginia (top sauce). Extracts are used but differ in the application solution. Alcohol can oxidize (turns into acetone). @TobiasLutz, can we ask what kind of solution you used to make your 'Whiskey GoGo'?
