Had some McClelland Blackwoods Flake in a Savinelli Series III when I got home from work.
Now I'm enjoying a bowl of McClelland Dark Star in a Savinelli Champagne bulldog and a bottle of Not Your Father's Root Beer. Pretty nice combo. :pipe:
I had a bowl of P&C Anniversary Kake last night just before midnight. Smoked it in a bent billiard Dunhill Shell. It tasted good, but I didn't let it air dry and burned my mouth smoking it. Now, I'll have to hold off on smoking until tonight.
Glad I'm not the only one. People say 'I don't dry my tobacco, I like it right out of the tin'. Not me, I try that and wind up with a seared tongue. Every time. That and I'm sure I get more steam and less flavor that way... either that or my tongue doesn't work right when it's in the process of being roasted. I dry everything out to 'just before crispy'.
I recall that being awfully soggy too. It was OK but for the price definitely not on my list to acquire more. D&R Rimboche SJ is my staple VaPer, bought 5 pounds when P&C was running that sale, for about 20 bucks a pound. And that is quite dry, I usually rehydrate slightly.
It all sounds good with a glass of port wine....
Haven't had a pipe in a while - been smoking cigars and chewing snus lately (I don't want y'all to worry about my nicotine intake :)). Having a bowl of Grape Nuts tonite - Stokkebye #41 Cube Cut (burley).
Had some of a mixture I'm working on.
50/50 McClelland 5110 and 5125, plus about 25% blending latakia.
It is a little sweet. I think I may need to add something to reduce that a tad. Maybe a smidge of DFK.
I'm pressing a couple ounces right now, to see how it does with that.
