Took the gourd for a spin last night as planned but ran two tank fulls thru it being as IPSD was what... Saturday(?) and I didn't smoke anything all weekend. First run was with Solani 656 and I must say this blend is much nicer in a briar, IMO anyway. Next up was McC Smyrna #1 which behaves very well in this pipe. I've never had a pipe that smokes so cool and dry but it does tend to mute or maybe blur together certain flavors, though I never know which flavors are going to be most affected.

My tin of Solani ABF went empty, so I popped open a tin of Capstan Medium (blue tin label) with 2+ years of age in it. The best durned tobacco that Mac Baren makes. Very tasty, it is.

Smoking a bowl of Temple Bar sipping on Duck Rabbit Imperial Russian stout and watching Harley and the Davidsons. It is a good night.

If you're shopping for a blend with a fantastic room note, this is NOT your huckleberry.
Tasty tho IMO. Reminds me of Brown Irish X with a tonquin topping... Where's my coffee...
