Peterson Irish Flake (I think... or something similar) in my formerly evil tasting Rossi Lumberman. Seems like I've finally smoked all the nasty resins and whatnot out of this pipe.
Anyway, pairing this with a New Holland, Dragon's Milk.
Smoking report from this afternoon - put a few racks of St. Louis cut ribs on the smoker after church today, and had a friend over to enjoy the unseasonably warm afternoon for a couple beers and a few of the aromatics from Tobias' bulk sell-off.
He brought over his suppressed 22 & I pulled out my pellet gun; I lit off a pack of firecrackers so we covered all the bases - alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and explosives :)
I am, but afaik that's to restore an old pipe, i.e. to get rid of left over or rancid tobacco tars and flavors. This was a brand new, albeit inexpensive pipe. The horrid cast it was giving off was no doubt due to the finish being slopped down into the bowl and then covered over with an equally vile tasting, black, furnace cement-like substance posing as an artificial cake to supposedly make break-in easier. I didn't think a s/a treatment would have much effect against that so I just decided to smoke thru it.
McClelland 5110 with 25% latkia added, while tossing the football and frisbee with the boys.
Sutliff South Seas in a Hickok Premiere straight bulldog
H&H Virginia Spice with an additional hit of perique.
G&H, Black Twist Sliced in a gourd calabash that just showed up in the mail.
Had to warm up and tweak the stem and then the standard disinfect with medical hand soap but it looks like it's been rarely smoked. The bowl is block meer and it's just starting to color :p
-edit-
The gourd sure cools and mellows this blend. Tastes almost sweet :)
Methinks ahmma like this pipe... :pipe:
