Milan Tobacconists Black Forest in a MM cob
First pipe since Christmas Eve, (been smoking too many damn cigarettes), Balkan Sasieni in a MM Legend. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I had the entire extended family at my house for dinner on Christmas day. We have a number of religions represented in the family, Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, and Atheists. Dietary laws were ignored for the day and we all had a great time eating and drinking and talking loudly so the hearing impaired, of which I am one, were included in the conversations. It was an enjoyable, but exhausting, day.
Last night I had a bowl of Nightcap. It will have to suffice for a while. I'm
hanging sheet rock today, ceiling, so a pipe will have to wait until my
arms recover.
Puffing marvelously good Solani 656, Aged Burley Flake, in my Il Duca Rhodesian. This one:

I prefer the taste of smoke from tobacco that hasn't filtered too much smoke, so I like shallow, broad, chambers. And, since I'm a holder, I like thick bowl walls that don't get hot. This pipe satisfies both points.
It also has the best grain of any pipe I own. Lots of straight grain, and perfect bilateral symmetry.
Burning about a 50/50 mixture of Solani 656 and McClelland 2011 Christmas Cheer in the little Savinelli; two small piles of paper plate leavings from a couple of earlier smokes. I usually avoid Va-Bur blends but this mix ain't bad at all.

H&H Anniversary Kake in one of my favorite pipes, a John Bessai squashed tomato. Great tobacco, great pipe, and a cup of decaf Irish breakfast tea, the perfect way to end my day.
Puffing Capstan Medium in my trusty Kirsten Mariner. This fill has more than two years of age on it, and it's superbly mellow. Sipping Nespresso medium roast coffee.
I took my 9mm SIG P226 X-Five to the pistol range this afternoon and shot four targets. The first two weren't so hot, but last two were pretty darned good. It makes me happy when I finish strong.
