Finally remembered to pick up a half pint of 151 rum, so tomorrow is briar cleaning day. Going to try to get at least 20 of them cleaned. So, for the next 24 hours it will be all cobs, and my last pipe of the day is Balkan Sasieni in a MM Legend. Looking forward to smoking in clean briars on Tuesday.

Don't you have to let them air a day or three after cleaning to let them rum dry out of the wood?

After cleaning them I let them air dry with the stems removed. One day usually does it, the high alcohol rum evaporates pretty quickly.

The last of my stash of Dunhill 221B Baker Street in a 1982 black sandblasted medium bend W.O. Larsen freehand with a black vulcanite stem.

I checked the description of "Dunhill 221B Baker Street", but it doesn't seem to fit the "black shag" that Holmes smoked. I've been wrong before, though…

I checked the description of "Dunhill 221B Baker Street", but it doesn't seem to fit the "black shag" that Holmes smoked. I've been wrong before, though…

It is dark and thin ribbon cut, but not a shag.

Now smoking Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite stem. Cleaning a few pipes.

Almost finished smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 1982 black sandblasted paneled slight bend Savinelli flat bottom sitter with a black vulcanite stem. Ice tea and bergs is my drink.
