I've smoked DF longer than any tobacco in my current tobacco rotation. It's always a pleasure, and, unlike some topped tobaccos, it never becomes tiresome towards the bottom of the tin. My only complaint is that the flakes often adhere to the point that I can't extract a whole intact flake. Possibly because my tins are at least two years old when I open them.

Now smoking D&R Raccoon’s Friend in a 1984 three quarter bend medium brown Ascorti KS Business Dublin with a black acrylic stem. I'm enjoying these new D&R blends very much. Mark Ryan tells me that the first batches were sold in July, so they beat the Aug. 8th FDA deadline. There will be another commercial release later this year.
G&H Sweet Rum Twist in the little Imperial Two Point lovat.
This tobacco is the best cube cut IMO - This one seems too harsh to me when I rub it out.
I cut a couple of 3/16 thick coins off the rope with a cigar cutter, cube cut those into biggish chunks with a single edge razor blade and let them completely dry out. Then I drop those chunks into the pipe till it's near full and sprinkle the loose bits and pieces on the top for tinder. One of these days I'm going to try just dropping a few of the whole coins directly into a bigger pipe and then using something like PA as tinder... but I think that much G&H rope just might kill me.
H&H Mid-town Sweet Cask, from a 2 oz sample I bought, in a no name French made billiard. Inoffensive but characterless smoke. Not something I'll buy again.
Edit: Scratch that, it becomes offensive as the bowl progresses. Sort of like smoking a sugar substitute. Dumped it out.
