First pipe of the day is Escudo in a small, no name, made in France billiard. With the sun filtered through smoke from the huge fire in the Santa Cruz mountains just west of here, this will be the third consecutive day with temps in the 90's.

Man, that sound good! I just put Manhattan clam chowder on my shopping list. I always have Ritz crackers on hand.
Smoking Escudo in my venerable Kirsten Mariner.

I recommend "Progresso" brand. Not homemade, but it's the best I've found in a can.

I'm more of a New England Clam Chowder guy...
Know of any decent New England Clam Chowders in a can?

If you like it thick: Progresso
Thin: Snow's (need to add milk or half & half.)
Growing up in Maine I never heard of Manhattan clam chowder until I moved to California. Ordered it in a restaurant and when it came my first thought was "What the hell is this? Where's my chowder?".

Moving on now from chowders to pipes, it's Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture in a straight MM Legend.

Thanks, I'll give it a try
I always order the stuff in restaurants but the idea of canned clam chowder never appealed to me for some reason. Time to try it out and see.
I also found this on the web...
Dave's Cupboard: Canned Clam Chowder: A Comprehensive Guide
No pipes or bakky for me lately. I've been sick as a dog. The 'ward it off with VaPer' approach failed miserably.
