Smoking some RY to end the day that started with RY. Just turned off the TV after hearing another L'Oreal beauty products promotional. "Baby I'm worth it." Can you imagine a men's commercial that says something like that? So narcissistic, so self-absorbed. "I'm just wonderful, because I'm ME! And I deserve everything because...I'm a woman who loves herself!" C'mon. Give me one single example of a commercial aimed at men that has the guy say, "I'm worth it." Well...maybe in the sense of being able to afford it. Does anybody else feel that the women's movement is completely dead, and the goal now is to become a beautiful, empty-headed Stepford wife with nothing better to do than dye her hair and scrape her feet -- because she's "worth it". You can earn it, you can be happy you have it, you can even owe it to yourself, but you don't have it because "you're worth it".
If the women's movement is dead, curmudgeonry yet lives!
