yea seems like it's not as big this year. If I remember right P&C usually does a bunch of giveaways and everyone has lots of good deals, but seems a little tame this year

I never try for the giveaways. I know what I like as far as tobacco goes and aromatics and pouch tobacco ain't it. I know what I like as far as pipes and cheap, deeply bent basket pipes ain't it. I know what I like as far as pipe tools / accessories and have all the ones I want already; don't want or need any more. I know what I like as far as lighters and guess what? I have the ones I want already. Let someone else have the grab-bags full of junk - someone who will appreciate it because I won't.

Smokingpipes is also offering 15% off on pipes and 10% off on tobacco. I've had my eye on a couple pipes (that I absolutely don't need) so maybe I'll spring for one of them... heck maybe both, maybe neither. I don't know yet.

I'm not buying anything this year, we're trying to easy up on the spending (or so I'm told) but I was looking at a few pipes they have and if I had it to spend I'd definitely be scooping up. As for tobacco, about the only thing I've been wanting to pick up is some tins of FVF to cellar and they always seem to be out so guess I'll pass on the deals this year.

Hahaha! Yep, that's exactly where the stuff would end up if they gave it to me; something to trip over and clean around that would never get used and should just get thrown away... but wouldn't because hey it's brand new! Better to give it away to some n00b or somebody who will smoke just about anything and like it. I gotta go look at those pipes again and see how much 15% knocks off. Can't remember what they cost even. I think both together would be around 200 so that's 30 bucks... not sure I care tho, I have enough pipes too.

I looked at pipes and cigars I remember hearing about good deals and specials for pipe day in the past. I have 1 real pipe and a couple cobs (I have not smoked in yet) I have some pouches of pipe tobacco not opened yet and a can of a freebie tobacco but I like it. Not sure 15% does anything for me as I have the basics and more cigars than I can count so the pipe doesn't get used much.

Decided to pick up this Ser Jacopo that I've been eying off and on for a couple months.
It's a sitter - kind of a cherrywood shape. I like sitters. Plus it has a relatively long shank. I like that too. I'm a big fan of canadian and lumberman pipes. In fact the other pipe I was eyeing was a canadian.
