It's good to see you back Pete.

I picked up a bunch (30) of Estate pipes almost 2 years ago and after cleaning most of them up I occasionally load up a bowl and smoke it. I am having trouble getting into the routine and process that comes with pipe smoking. Lighting, tamping, relighting, etc is just something that I can't seem to get used to. Yeah, I am a lazy SOB. But I will continue when the mood hits me. I have a lot of pipe tobaccos I have yet to try, so I haven't found anything that knocked my socks off. I may try again later today and will post it if I do. It's been a while.

I have been visiting through PM with @Ljutic and he is a piper along with @Cool Breeze .

Maybe we need a pipe month to get some piper traction!

Hey Steve, what cuts of tobacco have you been trying.
Obviously plugs and flakes have more of a learning curve than ribbon cuts do.
For ribbon cuts, I found this video to be extremely helpful. I was getting frustrated as well, and this turned it around for me.

    Good to see you Pete.
I'm still here and still smoking a pipe, moreso than cigars these days in fact.

Haven't bought anything new lately though, just been sticking with the old standbys.

Paul, I have been smoking ribbon cuts. It's the ritual and relights that I don't care for. I have also practiced keeping it lit by keeping the pipe in my mouth and as I breathe I very lightly breathe in and out of the pipe, while most of my breathing is through my nose. I have watched a bunch of Muttonchop piper videos. They are very helpful. I just need to learn to enjoy the whole process of pipe smoking. I am a lazy SOB.

Hey Pete,,, I check in now and agin but my real world has been an extreme effort of survival. I haven't packed a pipe in about three weeks and it was almost a year before that. But I'm looking forward to lighting up and enjoying the peace that comes with that billow of smoke.

New here, but old timer elsewhere. I got curious about bulk aging so began putting down a couple of pounds per year until space eventually becomes an issue. Took advantage of C&D bulk at 20% off earlier today as a chance to put down another pound. Rounded out my order to free shipping with a couple C&D Missouri Meers to supplement my mostly English briar pipes. Have not packed a bowl since probably 2001, but sealed tins and pipes don't spoil. I'll get back to it eventually.

I just dropped by after 8 years. We used to blend, cure and press a lot of baccy here anf puff before that. Lots of trading too!I think Tobias and I traded 50 lbs between us. I threw a blood clot in 2016 into my heart\lungs and made some huge lifestyle changes after beating certain death and weeks in the hospital. I miss smoking 20 bowls a day and 4 or 5 cigars but needs come first. That was 40lbs, 3 packs and terrible lipids ago. Now it's my own vape juice, 0 ciggys, perfect cholesterol a few joints replaced and sitting on a bunch of pounds of 10 year aged Nightcap in mason jars. I have an entire 1950s MM Deluxe collection of cobs I'm going to sell too. hope you all are well well
