Bruce, you'll do fine. If you have any concerns, ask, and cross your fingers .
Barclay-Rex handmade Poker
The Nastri family, Vincent (father), Vinny (son) and Joanne (Vinny's wife)) were among my favorite customers and I've been looking to add one of their handmade pipes for many years. Most Barclay-Rex branded pipes are private labels made by others, and although I can't date this pipe, it has many characteristics of Vincent's work. I do smoke some pokers.
Size, grain and shank / rim characteristics indicate handmade and though it's possible that Barclay-Rex resumed making pipes since I was last in the store, (2001) (Vincent had passed sometime before this), I'll accept this one as a Vincent original unless there's evidence to the contrary. Condition looks excellent, really crisp rim and little, if any, stem chatter.
The seller doesn't accept PayPal and I think that put off most potential bidders so I got the pipe for $19.53 (shipped). Just mailed the check, it will take longer than normal to receive but I can wait a few weeks more.

Astute comment. I smoke billiard family bowls, almost to the exclusion of all else, yet over the years I've had passing affairs with apples, pokers and lately, perhaps due to comments by @freestoke (Hi Jim), smaller pipes too.
In pipes you can always have meal of your choice but sometimes variety has its benefits.

Pack of jars and a year old tin of Escudo from a B&M. Might go back when I have the funds as they have a few older tins and a few tubs of Sugar Barrel and Walnut.
