@Branzig now yrs ago when I tried a pipe I smoked those dime store tobaccos..since I have developed over the yrs..why would I want to start there again..no I want to start with experienced smokers who have found these special pipes an tobaccos..an although I like free life is short an I have a dollar..so what would you do?...me I would ask people like you if you want to sell a sampler believing it would be better tobacco..right..

Either I misunderstand your post entirely, or you misunderstand what the newbie sampler trade is all about. It's not newbies swapping "dime store tobaccos" back and forth. A new pipe smoker is paired with a experienced one. It's also not free. The new pipe smoker sends a tin of tobacco to the experienced one, and in return receives a number of samples of quality tobacco to try. If you read the entire thread, I think you'll find it's just what you are looking for. I've participated in a number of these and though I always include a sample of Carter Hall, I don't think you could classify any of the other samples I send as "dime store tobacco". Give it a try.

You misunderstood. You get premium pipe tobacco. It is vets that help out the newbies. No dime baccy.

I'll get around to that thread..but right now I need some tobacco, an I simply thought maybe you guys..who I consider experts here would be able to let me try a sampler(pinch) of what I see you posting, I didnt ask for free.....to me it would be something special...I looked on line at tobaccos last night an if I bought from what I read I would have spent a few hundred dollars last night.....BUT a BUM is helping me out an for that I am very grateful...its probably his advice which is going to shape my experience in pipe smokin....maybe this is a little testie to some, but at 73 I dont have time to play around..now I got to check with a rope maker here an see if he is willin to let me try that lushis rope we talked about....

@Lynn , my suggestion of Carter Hall was to temper your new pipe, build a cake in it. Not trying to start you off cheap. Your pipe is kind of like a new car, put a few miles in getting to know it and learn it's quirks before you start road racing.
