I don't care much for it (although fresh, the tin note is wonderful) It's not that it's bad, it's just nothing special.
Let us know what you think of it. I'm always interested in someone else's take.
Has anyone smoked Samuel Gawith and Gawith Hoggarth since they merged and did you notice any changes in the tobaccos?

Hello old friend
My latest tin of FVF I noticed no difference. Still thin cut. No essence.
I have yet to smoke any newer GH&Co

I hear the talk about the merge a while back but didn't know if it had happened or not yet.
I've not noticed any difference, but then I don't really know if I'm smoking pre or post merge tobacco.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I believe that they all piled into one of the factories for economy of scale. The merger was about 2 years ago so I suspect that most commercially available tobacco (now) would be post-merger and if, as @Branzig has found, there isn't much difference if any at all that's a good sign.

well I know for sure I've bought Sweet Rum Twist more recently than 2 years ago. The new stuff has more lakeland essence but I attribute that only to the fact that the jar I refilled was 4 or 5 years old.

It's good to see you're back, Pete. Answer to your question is no, I didn't even know they had merged; when did this happen?

Hi Tab,
Thanks, nice to be back.
I believe it was 2015 because it was the 150th anniversary of the companies splitting up in the first place.
