Nice score! If I ever own a Dunhill, an estate is what it will be. What did you have to give for it (if you feel like disclosure).

I'd call that a brandy all day long. AFAIK billiards have an almost cylindrical external profile.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I paid $66.29 including shipping. I agree with you on the shape even though the 5102 is supposed to be a billiard. Found a post on the internet of an observation of another Brandy shaped 5102.

    Dunhill 5102

Nice pipe. A lot of people would doodoo in their pants at the idea of topping a Dunhill, but at least you've got plenty of room to do that if you choose. My attitude on it, well, I took a rasp to my only Peterson P-lip and flattened that sucker to make it smoke like a normal stem and never looked back LOL. Bet it'll be a nice user at any rate. Makes me want to go surf for some estates, but I know better than to peek with my underweight wallet!

I don't know if I'll top the rim to even it out; heck, I didn't even notice it until I looked at it from a certain angle. I'll probably just smoke it the way it is. The nomenclature is so weak as it is; if I did refinish it, the stampings would be gone.

Got this in the mail today; it's a group 5 Dunhill Root. As you can see, it has a badly oxidized stem. Will the Oxi-Clean treatment damage the white dot? I've rejuvenated several stems in the past, but never a Dunhill.

Great looking pipe! One day I have to add a Dunny to my collection.

As for the dot, place a dab of Vaseline over it. Should protect it from the Oxi.

Killing it with the Dunnies, looks great. Probably will never own one, but I'd love to have a real quality British Billiard someday for when I want to feel like Tolkien and wear tweed =D

Haven't smoked it yet. Stayed up past 1:30 this morning polishing that stem. I may smoke it tonight!
