Nice score and Happy Birthday.
I did the same in celebration of my birthday with the Germain Flake purchase.

I find that small, thinner walled smooths are best with latakia mixtures. If I smoked inside I'd try it with some straight Virginia flake but that's another day.
I've smoked two bowls in this little guy and the stem is a problem, small width, that I can't get good purchase on. The bowl reams circular but in the phrasing phase it was angled to make the oval but I left the extra cake there.
I smoked it with Balkan Sasieni (how could I not) and Dunhill Mixture #965. Other than the difficulty with the bit it performed admirably with no ghosting and really crisp, clean flavors, exceptionally so and it smoked long and cool. Without question the ugliest pipe I own but my single criterion is how well a pipe smokes and if I can get used to the mouth feel it will get it's share of smokes.
About to fire up the Mastro de Paja for the first time that I bought a few weeks ago.

Another 10 pipe grab bag of seconds from MM. It's my consolation prize after being outbid at the last second on Ebay for a pipe I really wanted.
Nothing big.
Just 1 tin of Full Virginia Flake, 1 tin of Escudo and 2 oz of bulk Nightcap.
I have some other things on my list to try, but a little at a time for now. :pipe:

This one my wife claimed
Go figure?????
Cobs just came in, here's what I received:
2 Mizzou straight stem
6 Legends, 4 straight, 2 bent
1 General, bent stem
1 Cobbit bowl with a standard black bent stem, (not churchwarden)
One of the bent legends has a good size divot taken out of the top of the bowl, but still useable. Some have very minor flaws, none of them structural in nature. Some look nearly perfect. The General, in particular, appears to be flawless. Once again, money well spent.
