Either I misunderstand your post entirely, or you misunderstand what the newbie sampler trade is all about. It's not newbies swapping "dime store tobaccos" back and forth. A new pipe smoker is paired with a experienced one. It's also not free. The new pipe smoker sends a tin of tobacco to the experienced one, and in return receives a number of samples of quality tobacco to try. If you read the entire thread, I think you'll find it's just what you are looking for. I've participated in a number of these and though I always include a sample of Carter Hall, I don't think you could classify any of the other samples I send as "dime store tobacco". @Lynn , my suggestion of Carter Hall was to temper your new pipe, build a cake in it. Not trying to start you off cheap. Your pipe is kind of like a new car, put a few miles in getting to know it and learn it's quirks before you start road racing.
I understood what you were saying...an I probably would have had doug pick me up some in town today..but a BUM here is setting me up on how to start this car....so right now I can look at it an polish it but cant turn the key yet....come on usps....Quote:
