I got a used Savinelli Punto Oro 8005 for Father's Day.
Okay, I found it for a good deal; and then handed it to my wife and said, "This is for Father's Day."
I forgot to take before pics (of course), but I mostly finished restoring it last night. I need to at least take a few "after" pics!
I’m a pipeaholic! After recently purchasing the Ardor and L’Antra, (described above) neither of which I really needed, I found yet another pipe I couldn’t resist. This Mark Tinsky bulldog — a bulldog like no other:

The L’Antra is beautiful, but this masculine Tinsky is better described as handsome. In fact, I think it’s the most handsome pipe that I’ve ever seen. I like everything about it. Its chamber is relatively broad and shallow, as I prefer. All of its other physical characteristics suit me too. Wonderful straight grain all around its bowl, and I like its color. The wood accent on its stem is harmonious (close harmony) with the briar.
The Ardor was the best Ardor I’ve ever seen. The L’Antra was the best L’Antra I’ve ever seen. And, yes, this Tinsky is the best Tinsky I’ve ever seen. Now: no more pipes! I swear...
^^^ That is a nice looking pipe! Thick walls too, good Va pipe :pipe:
Been seeing this on all of the pipe Facebook pages and the forums.
My local B&M had a few tins so I grabbed one today to see what the fuss was all about.
10 year old Virginia and 17 year old Perique. Sounds good.
And yes, that's the correct price. 68% tax here in Arkansas.

Stopped by a local antique shop today and picked up this great pipe rack and these 2 pipes.
The bent one is just a run of the mill Grabow, and is unsmoked.
The straight pipe is a BB&S Rallye. Never heard of the brand, but upon some research it is a sub-brand of Barling.
Not sure when it was made. It seems like a solid pipe.
Great trip to the antique store.

Ron Smith is a pipemaker and is a member of our pipe club. I approached him to buy a pipe and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Came back with three of his hand-made pipes. They should arrive in the mail today.

Very nice, all of them.
But I especially like the one in the middle.
Thanks, that's my favorite of the bunch too. He has recently started sandblasting some of his pipes and this is one of them. I would have bought more of his sandblasts but didn't care for the rest of them. That's a good haul that you got at the antique store, congratulations.
