Advisor to Bum Wanabees
About a month ago I smoked my first fill of Solani 660, Silver Flake, and fell in love — it’s just flat out good. Tobacco Reviews says of it:
“An incredible blend of premium dark red and sweet Virginias from the "border belt", light yellow Virginia from South Carolina, and dark-fired, spicy Kentucky. Slow burning and because no flavoring has been added, this blend has a real tobacco taste.”
Wonderfully flavorful and slightly zippy, its form is broken flake. I just bought ten 100g tins from SmokingPipes. I have no idea what “dark-fired” means — the tobacco is fairly light in color IMO. In any case, I’ll be keeping a good stock of this stuff on hand going forward.

Local B&M got this in stock.
I usually don't buy a lot of tinned tobacco there. You can see why on the sticker (not their fault, as AR has a 68% tax on pipe tobacco).
But I haven't had Elizabethan Mixture in over a year and couldn't resist grabbing one when I saw it.
All is right with the world now.
Check out my Youtube channel, Razorback Piper Guy if you like that sort of thing.

Let me know how the Peterson compares to the Dunhill.
I only have 5 tins of the Dunhill left and I am afraid to smoke any of it lol

I've got a few tins of the Dunhill that I've had practically forever. Bought them and never opened them because I always have several good VaPers on hand (and open) to choose from. One of these days I'll have to try it. For now, we'll say it's aging.

Picked up these two at antique shop not to far away. I am researching the Falcon, found several sites and dates are a bit fuzzy. This one is stamped PP4 which I think was the Rollit era but with the 4 instead of the 3 there for the die number I am not exactly sure. Either way it seems to be in great shape, maybe a bit of polish on the metal but I am not sure I shouldn't just leave it as is. Picked it up for $5 so I don't think I am out much there.
The Kaywoodie has the entire box with all the literature that came with it. Someone went to the trouble of keeping the box but the pipe looks like it has had a few bowls in it. The only bad part about the whole pipe is it doesn't look like they wiped off the rim after the bowls so it's pretty dark there. It's a 600 Syncro-Lok and the model number is a 80b, according to wiki seems like a really late 60's or early 70's with that syncro feature.
