I got some more of Seattle Pipe Club's Plum Pudding, Orlik Golden Sliced and Dark Strong Kentucky. Add to this with Old Shenadoah Barrel 76 and finally Cao's Eileens Dream. You should note that I got multiples of 2 for several of these selections adding up to 19 tins. You should note that Pipes and Cigars already had a bountiful sale with their "Catalog End of the Summer" sale; add to that a 20% across the board discount and I simply could not resist.
Exactly what I like to do whenever I get a 20% off coupon from them; shop for items that are already on sale and reap the double savings!

Thanks to the new FDA tobacco rules, I received my last Pipe Tobacco of the Month Club shipment from P&C today. I have really enjoyed getting these packages each month for the last two years and I am not happy that they are being discontinued.

The last thing I need is more tobacco, but this deal was just too good to pass up.

What are your favorite D&R blends? Or what blends did you buy besides the Rimboche?

The Rimboche SJ is my favorite from them. Picayune is also pretty stout and tasty, will probably grab a pound or two of that. I have a little bit of 3 sails kicking around, which is pretty good but not as good as Rimboche SJ since I prefer the cut of that and the perique of course. Haven't ordered yet, I need to find someone to swap my CI gift cards with and go with P&C. Their D&R sale is running til nov. 10 and the 20% off code til the 31st so I gotta get knocking on doors!

P.S. I also tried the Ramback Balkan and the Ryback. Ryback was pretty good. the Ramback would be a good blender probably.

Got four 7 oz. bags of some Iwan Ries & Co. Three Star Blends in the mail today. Ordered on Thursday, received on Saturday (USPS Priority Mail)!

Also showing off my new toy, a FoodSaver vacuum sealing device. I have already used up one and a half big rolls of the bag material just sealing up various tobacco packages. I love this thing!

I like the Ryback Gold better than the straight up Ryback, but that's just me. I ordered some more to stash back for a rainy day. Pictures to come when the Eagle has landed....

Savinelli Hercules 606 EX. This is a BIG pipe that I'm currently working on. Got it cleaned up, but it still needs some polishing. I may just sell it as is because it'll take longer to polish it than it would take to polish a semi truck. I put it next to the Kaywoodie so one can get an idea how large it is. It's definitely a Grizzly Adams sized pipe. I'm taking donations of pipe tobacco to see if I can get enough to fill it, as I only have a few pounds of tobacco.....

    Found this on the pipe:
The "EX" marking on this pipe stand for "Extraordinaire", meaning that this is a very large pipe. The Savinelli Hercules 606 pipe is well over six inches long and has a bowl depth of 2.12 inches! While some may be hesitant to pull the trigger on a pipe so large, this pipe sits in the hand very nicely and has an unparalleled ability to smoke cool, all the way to the bottom of that deep bowl.

    Brand: Savinelli

    Model: Hercules

    Style: 606 EX

    Shape: Bent Billiard

    Length: 6.43 in. / 163.21 mm.

    Height: 2.45 in. / 62.29 mm.

    Weight: 2.5 oz. / 72 g.

    Bowl Depth: 2.12 in. / 53.86 mm.

Bowl Outside Diameter: 1.71 in. / 43.49 mm.

Bowl Inside Diameter: 0.86 in. / 21.83 mm.

    Filter: None

    Finish: Smooth

    Bowl Material: Briar

    Stem Material: Vulcanite

    Package: Box

    Country: Italy

    Convertible: No

Since Forever stems are still not available, (and I have my doubts that they will be anytime soon or perhaps ever again), and I prefer shorter pipes, I ordered a few short cobs from Missouri Meerschaum. One each of the Stubby, Marcus, and Dagner Poker Cob.
