I did something bizarre today. I logged on to SmokingPipes with the intent of ordering 25 50g tins of Solani 633, Virginia with Perique. They only had 13 tins in stock, so I took those.

But then I noticed Solani 639, Tropical Mango Flake. By no means am I an aromatic fan, but I've been so impressed with Solani tobaccos. For example, Solani 656, Aged Burley Flake, is the only straight burley I've found that I like (and I like it a lot). So I took a flier, and ordered five 50g tins of the 639. Hope I like it.

I also bought a tin of Dunhill De Luxe Navy Rolls for the free ride. DLNR is a classy VaPer.
    Cognition?
    On.

I need to start blocking emails from vendors. Got one from Pipes & Cigars about the new Russ Ouellette Perique Series blends, so I took a look at them. Ended up ordering one tin each of blends # P-37, B-41, GP-11, and SV-23, plus 2 tins of RO Series Acadian VaPer, 2 H&H Anni Kake, 2 pouches of Carter Hall, and one tin each of D&R Windsail and Dunhill Ready Rubbed. I have no self control.

Don't feel alone. I have the same problem when it comes to pipes and tobaccos, no self control. I went hog wild on the Mar's Cigar sale that started yesterday.

So, I get a small tobacco order in from Pipes & Cigars.com and they give me a password for 20% off my next order of $100 or more. What the hell, I'll go look, no harm in that. I think you already know how this story ends.

It's a Mastro de Paja Classica Billiard. I'm a sucker for Italian pipes.

Edit: Well, the attachment doesn't seem to work, so here's the link: Mastro De Paja Classica Pipes - Pipes and Cigars

Dang, I wish you hadn't shown me that pipe! I like it, particularly the ones with the taper bits. I didn't realize you could get a Mastro de Paja for so little.

The saddle stem. If you look at the page, the one at the bottom that says "Out of stock" is mine.

Edit: The pipe just arrived. It's really quite nice, handmade, medium size pre-carbonized bowl, drilling is spot on. If it smokes as good as it looks, I may go back for one of the apple shape.
