What do you guys think of the starter kits out there? I'd like one that comes with a carrying case.

Get the omega. Smokes well. I got the smooth. Didn't have the rustic or it would be mine.

I'm eyeballing this Castello. I don't know anything about them, but I'm really digging it. Unfortunately, it's well out of my price range.

    Hi Ryan,

Man, this pic slapped me with some memories.

Castello makes wonderful pipes and they're expensive, (I'm smoking my only one as I write) but they hold value well. This bent egg, with the acrylic ferrule and military mount is a fairly rare Castello shape and treatment, understated elegance.

This shape, in a fiammata grade, almost caused me a world of grief with SwissAir customs around 1982 (the memories).

You've got a good eye and thanks for posting.

As far as what I'm eyeballing, it's always Barling and Ser Jacopo. I search on other brands but those two is a several time a day thing for me.

    Pete

I'm pretty easy, just want to remember to get one or two of these next time I order tobacco. I still haven't tried a cob yet.

    Bent Apple

@Horsefeathers willed this link to me after buying its good looking sister:

    http://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/ne...duct_id=164277

It is the shape I want but it's over a hundo and it's blasted, which is not my preference. I'm wavering.

    Jim,

You did pretty well with your Ben Wade but I'll keep an eye out for bent apples on eBay that seem to be a good value.
