    Pipe cost

So, a couple times when I've been on smokingpipes, Pipes and Tobacco, etc, I briefly looked at their pipes for sale, and they seem to range from $300 to $1500!

How can most of you guys afford to have multiple pipes at that cost?

Now I feel bad about dj1340 (Don) for sending me the gorgeous Stanwell he sent me.

Is there a dedicated used pipe store aside from ebay for decent name pipes (not the Chinese stuff on Amazon)?

    I friggin love tobacco!

Look on ebay. You can find slightly used pipes for not a lot of money.
Pipes and Cigars have plenty for sale in the $120 range as well as Cup O'Joes about the same range.
Keep looking because there are plenty of pipes available in that range. An expensive pipe won't necessarily
smoke better but price is usually based on maker and design. Some can take a long time to make.

I have about 20 pipes that I've had for a long time. Some I've never smoked but loved the design of them.
There are some producers that by name alone will command big money.
Couple of things I've learned. I like good Bourbon and hate wet toilet paper.

I'll give ebay a browse. Just nervous about getting a cheap, Chinese pos since I don't know the names of the reputable brands/makers.

$120 is still more than I'd be willing to spend on a pipe.

My MM cob was $20 and I couldn't be happier with its performance and quality of construction. The bowl and shaft(?) walls are very thick, so I'm 100% confident it could survive a decent fall onto concrete with nothing but some scuff marks, which can be perfectly fixed with a black sharpie. Already did it on a couple scuffs, and the color matched perfectly and you can't tell there were ever any scuffs.

Really don't need another pipe. I could do just fine with 2 no problem, but some are just so awesome looking, that I'm tempted...

    I friggin love tobacco!
