Penzance in stock...............................annnnnnnd it's gone.
Got an email notification at 12:02 from smokingpipes today.
I didn't see the email until 2:30 and it was already gone.
Darn it that was fast.
Anybody get some before it was gone?
Check out my Youtube channel, Razorback Piper Guy if you like that sort of thing.

I did manage to snag some Tilsbury and some Pembroke.
Never had them, but the price is right at Cup o Joes so I thought I'd get them while I could.

I managed to snag an 8 oz bag a while back. I smoked some. Still got about 7.9 oz jarred up.
It is good, but it's only tobacco. I'm not going to buy any more unless it's reasonably priced and easy to come by.
IMO GL Pease, Gaslight is just as tasty. Not the same blend mind you but similar and just as good in its own right.
Stonehaven I didn't like, though someone told me it's very nice if you dry it out completely. I'll have to try that but so far I haven't. I still have 7.9 oz of that one jarred up somewhere too.

I agree that it is not worth spending a ton of effort looking for or paying outrageous prices for.
But if found in stock at normal prices, I'll pick some up.
As far as GL Pease, have you tried Quiet Nights? It is really good. It's an oriental forward English. Not exactly like Penzance, but there are some similarities.

Haven't tried that one but I'm a fan of SPC Mississippi River. Is it similar to that?

It is not to me.
Quiet Nights has a lot of the sour Oriental notes. The Latakia is not overwhelming, but is much more noticeable than Mississippi River. With MR, I have to really concentrate to even taste the Latakia.

IDK what you guys are talking about, I have tons of the stuff
Actually I do know, but a B&M near our Charlottesville office has it in stock occasionally so I've got a good stash of it. I think about 95% of the guy's customers are cigar smokers, so his pipe tobacco inventory doesn't get much turnover.
But, as the Emperor says, it's just tobacco. There are plenty of other blends out there that are just as good and better.
You oughta know not to stand by the window, somebody see you up there.

I don't claim any expertise with English mixtures, but I find Solani 779, English Luxury Mixture, to be very fine tobacco. Mild and tasty. Virginia, Oriental, and Syrian Latakia. Usually in stock at SmokingPipes.
