Completely understood! I was just referred here by Alligator Gar the other day so I am new. I came from Reddit. I can always wait a bit to get a feel for the forum as well.

Hello Joe,
We welcome your enthusiasm! Take some time to browse around and get to know some fellow members a bit. We look forward to the opportunity to get to know a little about you too.
I see you have some prior experience with cigars. Feel free to browse the other side of the forum as well. I additionally invite you to post an introduction in the New Cigar Bums Introduction Forum.
If you haven't seen it, post #1 of this thread outlines the process for the Newbie Sampler Trade for Pipes. I am sure Jeff
@commonsenseman
will get you on the list and get a trade underway when the time is right.
Meanwhile, Welcome! and enjoy the forum.

Always happy to welcome new members, especially those who show an interest in the gentle art of pipe smoking. ( A sure sign of a superior intellect. After all, any fool with a match can set fire to a cigar. ) So come in, sit down, kick your shoes off and browse the forums. Get to know us. Put up a few posts so we can get to know you. I'm sure you'll like it here.

@commonsenseman
please put me on the list as a new piper, I'm very excited to see what this side of the hobby is all about.
Let's go invent tomorrow instead of worrying about what happened yesterday.

Most definitely. OGS is a winner!
By the way, I hope the Sweet Rum Twist didn't throw you; I had planned on telling you about using a cigar cutter and such to prep it, but then disappeared...
