    Microwave for Drying Tobacco

Anyone else use a microwave to dry out a bit of tobacco before smoking?

I intended to set out a bowl's worth that was a bit on the moist side before I went to bed last night. Never got to it and wasn't able to dry it before heading out.
I put some in a paper muffin cup and put in microwave for 15 seconds. Pulled it out and it was starting to steam and the muffin cup was moist on the bottom. Stirred it around and fluffed it up. After a few moments of sitting, it still seemed a bit moist, so I zapped for 10 more seconds. It ended being just about right.. just a bit of dampness, but dry enough to smoke without requiring multiple re-lights and avoiding any moisture problems like gurgling.

Not used it myself but have read of lots of folks doing it that way. Seems to be a quick way to to it.
Couple of things I've learned. I like good Bourbon and hate wet toilet paper.

Never heard of that, but it sounds like a fast way to do it. And I bet it would be a good method for drying out some stubbornly moist aromatics.

Tried it several times and it works great! Also tried it with a blend that I put together with lots of perique. Made the perique smell like chocolate chip cookies!

I use a sheet of paper under a desk lamp for a few minutes. No nukes.

Haven't tried that w/ pipe tobacco, sounds like a good idea. I have done it w/ cigars though and that works pretty well. Technique is to clip the cigar, nuke it for about 10 seconds, then blow out the steam. Repeat as needed.

When I want to dry out tobacco, I put it in a giant jar, and then I stick a hair dryer on the low over the opening and let it run a few minutes. When the tobacco is wet and dense it dries well, and doesn't fly around like you would expect by sticking a hair dryer over it.

Microwave? A good tip. I chop my FVF and Wessex Campaign, spread it out on a plate, then let it sit for an hour before smoking it. But I'm going to try your microwave technique.
