What I've been doing lately...
Hey all! As promised back in December, here is a sneak peak of what I've been doing that's kept me away for so long. If there's anyone in the western NY/PA area, you are more than welcome to come to the show opening on April 14th at 6pm. Gallery is the Ortlip Gallery at Houghton College.

That one looks like you put an M80 in a can of paint and set a canvas nearby.

HAHAHAHA!! Actually, the "canvas" (a 3x5 foot piece of white painted plywood) was set up on the floor of a 4 story atrium. I was dropping the paint from the 4th floor. There is also a video element that goes with this. My camera was set up to catch the "Moment of Impact" when the paint hit the canvas. There was also a microphone underneath to catch the sound. When this is displayed, the slow-motion video will be projected onto the painting. I did 22 "drops" of paint with each drop representing a Veteran that dies each day from suicide. With the slow-motion capture and the sound, it's actually pretty moving. My class had to take a break to compose themselves after I showed it.
