Yeah, I have heard/read this quite often. Being it is my first go with this tobacco, I will probably do as you did. Pop the tin, smoke 2-3 bowls and jar the rest and see what happens down the road.

Luckily the other things I bought require no age, great right out of the tin and in my pipe!

No idea. I've never had it before, I bought it on a whim. I was thinking about letting it age becuase I've heard that helps it. But I'll probably pop it open and try some.

If you haven't already, I suggest you jar it up and wait at least a year, then try it. I didn't like the topping either. It tasted like Cheap. and I mean CHEAP, brandy. I like brandy, but I can't stand cheap liquor. After a year or so it tastes decent.

That is the C&D Burley Sampler. Cornell & Diehl Old Joe Krantz, Haunted Bookshop, Burley Flake #2, Burley Flake #3, and Lunchtime Blues. All of them are new to me.

Even the names are new to me! The "Haunted Bookshop" name caught my eye.
