This came across my facebook feed today. Copied from the pipe's and cigars webpage;

McClelland is releasing their Christmas Cheer and Holiday Spirit blends for 2016, and also for 2017 right now. Why both years at once? Due to the FDA's new deeming regulations, annual and seasonal blends will no longer be able to be made. Since Mike and Mary McNiel had already bought the leaf for the next two years, they figured that they had to bring them out now, or not at all.

I thought the same thing, but I think it also has to have been in continuous production.

I haven't really been following this situation but does this mean that any blend that hasn't been on the market since 2007 will disappear?

First,Hi @Pugsley ,How ya doing? Was thinking on you just yesterday.Hope,things are improving.
Second,as to the blends,products that were on the market in feb 2007 and ,I assume, still are will be grandfathered.
All others will have 2 years to get approval or be pulled from the shelves.They,the FDA,has already started
sending letters out to foreign distributors and manufacturers to comply or they will fine or confiscate or whatever their
EVIL hands can get away with.(This is in ref to an email sent to the makers of Djarm clove cigarettes)

Been neglecting my pipes for the better part of the past year and haven't kept up with the tobacco related news and this is disturbing indeed. It certainly appears to mean I won't be able to order my custom blend online anymore.
