Favorite pipe finish?

I voted for a combination. I rarely go for smooth pipes, I prefer sandblast and rustication. BUT it depends on the blast or the rustication. This blast for example is what I desire: http://s58.radikal.ru/i159/0906/65/562f0906f2eb.jpg
none of that lightly blasted crap where it looks like someone blew pixie dust on it. And as far as rustication goes I'm content with a variation of different finishes.

If a sandblasted or rusticated pipe can't double as a backscratcher, it might as well be smooth!

It was being sold as an estate. F. Sykes Wilford and gang came to Japan and brough a bunch of their pipes to sell. I wanna say it was about 500 dollars. It felt like a cat's tongue. Very intriguing feeling.

I have other pipes but find it hard to smoke out of any of them but this Longchamp, it burns so nice.

Clip those nails :), you're scratching the smooths, silly feline (your avatar).

I prefer smooths for two reasons:
1 - they can smoke VA a little sweeter while sandblasts are a bit more dry in taste and moisture.
2 - they're harder to make (handmade and unfilled).

I do like and smoke sandblasts. The blast process, when deep and well defined, is a torture test for the flaws that prevented it from being smooth so I consider them to be firsts as well.
