First Dunhill and now Mcclelland? Tell me it isn't so.
Well, this sucks if its true.
And I imagine it is. They've been discontinuing a lot of blends here lately.

Smokingpipes has 40th Anniversary in stock right now.
And yes, I ordered 5 tins before I told you.

Bad news but tnx for sharing. Won't really affect me personally - I have pretty much a lifetime supply of pipe tobacco in the old cellar (china cabinet actually).
You oughta know not to stand by the window, somebody see you up there.

Bummin' a smoke
Unfortunately it was announced right as I was tossing up whether I needed another tin of St James Woods. I've got more chance of sprouting another arm than getting a tin for a decent price now.
It's a terrible shame as they had a great following of smokers, though I'm not a huge McC smoker, it is always a shame to see a blender close their doors after 40 years of service to the pipe community.
Though much like Dunhill, it's a fact of life, and we just need to find more blends to replace those we lose.

Me too.
Actually I probably have 2x lifetime supply of pipe tobacco. IDK why I bought half of it... probably because I saw this type of thing on the horizon, but I always figured it'd be Big Brother shutting down internet sales and tobacco companies going out of business as a result. Cart before the horse I guess but the end result seems to be shaking out about the same.

I bought up about 70 tins of dunhill in the last 2 months and will grab some more
Mcclelland on the other hand, I have none of except A half tin of Christmas cheer.
RIP Don DeBusk, I miss you more than you’ll ever know my good friend.

Will work for tobacco.
Damn.
I wish I knew about this earlier... Mc C's Virginias are my favorite.
I have a good supply of English and Balkans which I have lost my taste for... maybe someone that wants some Dunhill will trade me some Mc Clelland?

Yeah me too. And I don't have neary enough.
I'm only sitting on 3 tins of Red and Black and 6 tins of 40th Anniversary.
I have some singles of other blends bringing my McClelland total to 16 tins (6 of which are 100 gram).
I have 3 or 4 tins of various stuff opened so I guess when I smoke that up, I'll slow down and have it on special occasions.
Dammit they knew how to make a Virginia flake.
If anyone is interested, Smokingpipes still has Dominican Glory Maduro and several of the Frog Morton tins available as of about an hour ago.

I heard rumors of their closing during the 5100 Red Cake incident last fall. It didn't hit home until my local B&M said that McClelland's was definitely going out of business in February. Fortunately, I have hoarded up a good stock of their tobaccos, so I'm set for a long while.
