    Dried Out Tobacco

I just read an old post about "speed drying" (under a heat lamp) vs air drying and it was mentioned that rehydrating dried out tobacco was not a great experience because of the oils oxidizing.
What if you mixed the dried out tobacco with some fresh/wet tobacco?
    Just curious.

Depends on to what extent and for how long the tobacco has been dried. If it's dried to the point where it has lost 50% or more of the flavor, it's time to toss it or use it in the garden.

Is this just tobacco you've let out to dry that got a little too dry?

Both, left out to smoke and stored.

If it's just been left out to smoke, yes you can just add a little fresh stuff and cover it with a small bowl or something till it's all at about the same moisture.
If it's dried out stored tobacco, it may or may not be any good anymore so I wouldn't mix good stuff in with it.

If it is just a little bit drier than you want, pack the bowl as normal, cover the bowl loosely with your hand, and blow one or two long, slow breathes through the pipe. Let it sit for just a couple minutes, then light it up. This should hydrate it a bit, and improve your smoke.
