    Burley?

I smoke mostly Virginias – some VaPers. But I'm thinking that I ought to give Burley another go. Can anyone recommend a straight Burley? The only ones that I've tried were sold in bulk by my B&M – I wasn't impressed.

I'd also be willing to try a Burley- Perique.

    Thanks in advance.

Straight Burley is not very good all by itself (IMHO YMMV). But +1 on the PS cube cut. C&D makes a ton of good burleys. Haunted Bookstore is good, and their Burley Flake #1 is not bad either.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think Solani 656 is just what I need – especially since I'm planning to order more Solani 633.

The PS Cube Cut sounds interesting too, but the web says that it's Burley, Cavendish, Virginia. As of now, I'm looking for a straight Burley.

I'll second the Haunted Bookshop. I also love the C&D Pirate Kake which is Burley and Latakia. Just ordered some more of both today....

I'm mostly a Vaper and Virginia smoker myself but one burley blend I enjoy is Peterson Irish Flake.

It did have to grow on me. When I first cracked the tin and smoked some, I didn't care too much for it. I would re-visit it ever so often and when I finished the tin a few months later, I liked it. lol
It's a strong blend though, so keep that in mind. Definitely an after dinner smoke for me.
Check out my Youtube channel, Razorback Piper Guy if you like that sort of thing.

Irish Flake is one that I didn't like. I have 3 unopened tins from my July, 2012 order. Might try it again, someday…

Pirate Kake ... An online retailer sent me a half ounce sample when I bought something else. Smoked some, smoked the rest, then ordered a pound.
