25 years until the end of the (pipe) world

Every couple of months we read new/different proposed legislation that will be "good for us". Because the powers that be know we are our own worst enemies, they will keep trying to crack down on what ever it is that gives us pleasure. Good luck finding people who will write their representatives. Most don't even know who they are.

    Stock up now.

side note: the same applies to the 1st, 2nd, 4th, etc amendments, but that is a huge discussion for other topics, and we don't want to get too riled up this morning : )

smoke on and stick it to the man!

Judging by what I've seen (I'm looking at you Tobias and Mooster), many here will have long been crushed under the weight of their own baccy cellar and buried alive by 2040 I do agree that now is the time to stock up, both cigars and tobacco.

Their proposed solution is not to prohibit tobacco use, but to educate the population through recommendations toward a healthier life. The process has already gained traction in Ireland, as the government proposed a project of de-normalizing smoking in the Irish society by 2025. The initiative called Tobacco Free Ireland is made up of more than 60 recommendations, and it was launched in 2013.[/url]
Reporting is such a sham. The article fails to mention a pack of smokes is about 10 Euro in Ireland and a tin of Dunhill over 20 Euro.

Sounds like another pack of nannies trying to save the world.
They can go to hell. I'm so sick of control freaks trying to save me from myself.

I know of at least 6 pipe clubs in my state that have written our represenitives. We're talking in excess of 2,000 people. All any of us got back was a stupid generic "we care and value your opinion" letter that was obviously a generic fill in the blank document. It didn't even once bring up the issues we were trying to bring to their attention....seriously I shared my response letter with many members from lots of different districts and locations. We all received the same crap generic letter....

Writing the reps will do nothing. Sorry to be a downer, just relaying my own expierences from doing battle here over tobacco legislation.

I have enough to last me into my 70s- I figure I'll die of something tobacco related by then

I wondered who would mention that name from the article first...

    Beaglehole

Anyway you slice it, that guy's a dog's ass, by name, words and deeds it appears.

Give smoking negative impressions (for schoolkids)? Like it's worked so far? So how did Prohibition work?

What's next, 'archival' (read Photoshop) pics of Hitler smoking his favorite pipe?

    Stock up boys.
