True Derelict
Mostly work and work-related stress here. My supposed to be 2nd job is the one I work the most, and it's nights babysitting psych's. As for my EMT job, well... I can't seem to get any quality hours in to get released from orientation. The boss claims payroll is a problem, but hired 2 more EMT's behind me, so that makes no sense. All 3 of us are orientees, so can't cover shifts, don't count as crew, and eat up payroll funds.
There you have it. Stuck doing the job I hate, getting my butt kicked by working nights, and being, it seems, held at arm's length from doing the job I love. Very frustrated

Still not working. Losing my mind rehabbing the ankle. Not working. Gained like 15 lbs because I can't doing the normal work outs. Drinking too much. Not smoking enough because it has been hot as balls
Oh man Joel, that sucks!
I was on mandatory bed rest after hurting my back a couple years ago. It was supposed to be 2 weeks of bed rest... I made it 3 days. I was on steroids too so the weight gain was two fold (meds & boredom). One day I ordered Pizza Hut... TWICE. And the first time they told me it was going to be 30 minutes... in that 30 minutes I ate a BOX of granola bars, bad ones (well you know healthy ones) the ones that don't even taste good! Then ate an entire large pizza and then felt the need to order ANOTHER pizza. Same delivery guy... embarrassing, especially when you take into account I hadn't put on actual clothes or showered in two days, I was in PJS and looked (and probably smelled) like grim death, and was on multiple pain meds and muscle relaxers so was probably muttering incomprehensibly.
Clearly you are taking the convalescence process better than I did. Good luck!!

Don't everybody go feeling sorry for
@defetis
. He's a punk.
LOL!! Anyway, I've been working and smoking 2-3 cigars per day. I just don't have much to add here.
I do try to keep you busy through texts though. Seems I'll have to up my text game a bit to counteract your boredom.

It's just been a really busy 6 weeks or so. None of it any fun.
Had a birthday on 7/5. Mother in law passed away on 7/6. Had to deal with cremation and then the memorial services. Been working on cleaning out her house, moving our stuff in and getting our house ready to sell. Been working the whole time and not enjoying my new hour long commute each way. Oh, and my wife fell down the stairs and fractured her tailbone.
Still have a way to go with the houses and getting everything finalized with the estate. I slowly have more and more time for cigars and the Bum again. Started planning my bedroom conversion into a smoking room for year round use. Not sure when I will have the time to start it yet.
Sorry to hear about the ankle. I can't imagine being off work and having to do that much rehab. My wife has had to do that a few times for different injuries over the last few years.

Hopefully with summer winding down forum activity will pick back up.
I've just been trying to survive the heat. And getting ready for school start back up the last couple weeks.
I don't have emotions, and sometimes that makes me very sad.

Jumpin’ Railcars and Collectin' Cans
Good to see all the faces coming out of the wood work. I figured everyone was still checking in. I agree there hasn't been much to comment on or get excited about. This season has kind of killed cigar smoking for the midwest outside. Ridiculous cold winter then 2 days of spring and pretty much feels like 100 since unless its raining.
