Wineador Build

So I've been toying with the idea of doing a wineador, well it looks like it's going to happen. The Salvation Army had an 18 bottle Wine Enthusiast cooler for $70. My girlfriend picked it up and brought it home, so checking this thing over it definitely has some light wear and tear on it but it functions good. Going to clean it up tonight and start airing it out. Undecided on what route I'm going to go for shelving yet, but I am pretty excited about this whole situation.

I don't know if he's still working, but if he is, his shelves look solid. I got his name a few years ago from another forum and he had a waiting list. Even though he had a list he was great in communicating where he stood as far as his production was going. Here's his email address if you're interested...

Thanks for the recommendation! I thought about seeing if I could source some Spanish cedar locally and maybe building them myself if I could get it for a reasonable price. I'm not really sure what shelves and drawers usually cost for these to be honest. I'm sure it's a get what you pay for kinda deal too

If you can build them yourself, GREAT! Always good to have some busy work to be proud of! And save some $$ too. Would love to see what you wind up with. Either way you won't lose.

I made mine for my wineador with just basic hand tools before I had my wood shop set up. Managed to get 1/4" slabs of spanish cedar to build with so was as simple as cut and nail. nothing's perfect but it turned out decent. I used some Padauk to make the drawer fronts to make it look a little nicer.


Ps nice grab, mine's a 28 bottle wine enthusiast, been running for a couple years now and love it.

Very cool. I've never graduated from having tupperware containers in my wine cooler. I've thought about fully converting it, but Boveda in tupperware is just so maintenance-free that I just can't quit it!

i picked up a wine cooler a year ago off craigslist for free because it stopped working. i really dont need it to cool so it was a win for me. i figured i would build the drawers and shelves myself and i got my spanish cedar from Wood Craft. I picked up 8 3/8"x4"x36" planks to make 4 drawers and a shelf. I never got around to building anything because i always had space. I am finally at max capacity and will be building these in the next few weeks lol. the spanish cedar was under 100$ for what i got (i didnt get enough for drawer fronts as i am going to use a different wood) and shelves and drawers will normally run you between 200-300 from what i remember when i was looking at them
