What's new in the world of cigars?
So the kid is a little bigger and now my wife says I can start up my hobby again. I have been out for almost four years.
So what have I missed? What are the newest crazes going on right now?

Welcome back to the hobby Danny! Crowned Heads, Caldwell, Warped, Curivari, RoMa Craft, L'Atelier, and La Palina are probably some new names for you. I'd definitely check out their stuff.

Happiness? A good cigar, a good meal, a good cigar and a good woman - or a bad woman; it depends on how much happiness you can handle- George Burns

Welcome to Cigar Bum Danny!
Four years is a long time!! I've only been serious about the hobby for about 2 years and there is soooo much new in those 2 years on top of what was already out there. And it seems that something new is coming out every day.
Go back to what your remember & then start exploring!
Enjoy the journey.

If these were the only brands in my humidor I would be one happy man!

Are those names good or just new? I see them on Small Batch, and I know everyone here wees their pants constantly about Small Batch.

Very good and somewhat new. Caldwell was named New Company of the Year for 2014 by Halfwheel, Warped is blowing up, Crowned Heads had an incredible year full of amazing releases, I could go on but you get the picture. A lot of buzz around these companies lately and its well deserved with the cigars they've all been putting out.

Welcome back to the fun!
The "newest" thing that I've noticed is larger ring gauges - like 54-60 and up.
Personally, I'm finding the smaller ring gauge offerings are more my thing. An occasional big ol' fat stogie is always fun, though The list that Cole provides is pretty good, as far as the newish names to check out.
The old tried and true names are still great, though. Fuente and Padron are my personal favorite non-boutique makers right now. Great offerings in their Hemingway/Opus X/Anejo lines and 1964 Anniversary/1926 Serie/1926 Serie 80th/Family Reserve respectively.
