Never had em, but if you're a Bidder, you should be able to score the regular sizes for $1/single on good days. Might be a good intro to the brand this way, and on the cheap.

I often call myself a “failure to my generation” because stuff like auction sites, that I should have easily figured out long ago still intimidate me. Probably throwing thousands of dollars a year out the window as a reward for my stubbornness.

If you'd like some advice, just let us bums know. I've been using CBid as my primary source for cigars for years now. Like you said, you save boatloads of cash if you do it the right way. But it's definitely a little more work than just hitting "Buy Now." I bet I average 50% off CigarsInternational prices.
Pro tip (thanks Sean): choose the option to ship all your winnings on a single day to save on shipping- THEN - keep moving it to a different day until all your auctions have closed and you've gathered up all you want.
I’ve started dabbling on CigarBid getting comfortable with the site and how it works. I haven’t won anything yet but I also haven’t bid more than a couple a bucks just testing the waters. Once I develop a strategy, I should be rocking and rolling.

LFD. I just realized be never tried a La Flor Dominicana. Any recommendations on a specific stick in their lineup or a good starting point for the brand?

Lfd is a good solid brand. Their main lines like double ligero air bender and Colorado all good. If you want some things fancier they have a football themed cigar each year for super bowl (being in Florida you may still be able to find last years) baseball themed need some help from nurture for that. Worth trying
I don't want to confuse you, but here's a strategy I live by:
Choose a bidding week. (Let's say next week is when you want to start)
Select Thursday as ship date, on the weekend before you want to start bidding.
Start bidding on Thursday - no time sooner.
Bid throughout the week from Thursday - Wednesday.
Before Wednesday at midnight, change your shipping date to Tuesday (I haven't gambed yet by setting it to Wednesday..yet at least).
Bid from Wednesday - Monday.
You can get about 12 days of bidding in for one shipment if done correctly.
