I could also be wrong about who was involved originally. I'm going off memory from the research I did last year.
My golf buddy swiped the one you sent me outta my travel humi and then proceeded to tell me it was really good ! Time to start stocking it with Gurkhas....
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

Thats what the place I got it from had in the ad they put out when they got them in. Originally they were event only type cigars when they were released. I don't buy that CAO had that much extra stock laying around for 6+ years from something that was never widely released. My guess was to keep that blend around they had to release them for sale. A bunch of companies did that last year. Some to major retailers and some to specific shops or regions.
The shop I picked it up at normally stocks a ton of CAO, but this was only a single box and no more since then.
Glad to hear it's good. I'll have to try mine soon.

Do I need to send you a few more 8x80s to keep him busy? Might keep him out of the good stuff.

No, but I think I need to put the ones I want to steer him towards in one travel humi and the good stuff in a separate one I hide in my golf bag !

The big question, for me has to be, are they going to smoke as well as the original. Not an easy task to recapture the quality of a cigar that's been gone for a number of years. But, and this is the reason I think this iteration of the Vegas cubanas might do just that is down to Pepin Garcias ability.
Will be initerested in seeing opinions of the"New" Vegas Cubanas.

I never had the original, so I don't know. I paid $8.10 for this in NY so it's probably $6.50 in the free world. It was very good like most everything from My Father's. I'll definitely get more.

A box of Don Francisco Maduro robustos and they are delicious. It's been a few years since I've had one but remember them to be a favorite and can't believe I haven't ordered more of them over the years. Too many cigars to try I guess and I'm trying to whittle my list of favorites down to 25 from 50. Keeps me in the poor house and wish I could just have 5 favorites but that's not happening.

Thanks Tony,
Since these were out of production for some time it would, I think, make more sense to regard the "new' ones as another addition to the My Father lines.
Rather than focusing on how closely they match the earlier Vegas Cubanas. Too much time has passed to believe the memory of the original V.C. can be all that accurate. Will still be trying to that tho.
Edit: The N.Y. Tax bit is insane.
