Bummin' Around
While everyone is talking "cooler", let me suggest "Snapware". I've just recently outgrown 4 desktop humidors of various sizes, and have expanded into creating 3 new "Tupperdors" - but in my case, instead of Tupperware, the name brand is Snapware. There is a gasket on this brand that seals better than any wooden humidor. I toss in 2 Boveda packs (65rh) and I'm set for a few months.
Advantages:
SIZE - These ones will hold about 40-50 cigars, but you can get the size that fits your predicament the best. Most coolers begin at a fairly large size, which can create a problem with too much space (your RH is likely to rollercoaster more than in a smaller space).
SEAL - The gasket creates a virtual air-tight compartment. Coolers and wooden humidors are going to leak a bit more comparatively.
MAINTENANCE - Two Boveda packs will drive your RH for several months, lasting longer in Snapware than they do in a typical humidor setting. And your RH reading should be spot-on. In fact, I'm comfortable now not having a digital hygrometer in each one since the Boveda packs are so accurate and dependable.
CREATION - I get several sheets of Spanish Cedar from my local B&M to line the bottom and the walls, cut them to size, put in my cigars and Bovedas, and I'm set. VERY easy to get it up and running.
