How long do you wait to smoke newl

Am curious of others practices, and gauging a majority response through posts sucks, so here's a poll.

Thanks to all those who participate

Will really depend on the cigar and if I want to see if time makes a difference.

Depends upon the cigar and where I got it from. Sometimes immediately. Otherwise, anything is game after a few weeks.

Should probably say how i voted, lol.

I voted 1 week as an average if I can resist, but its not uncommon to smoke a particular one after only a few days.

Really, everything has been just fine immediately when I couldn't resist the temptation.

Have only ever had one cigar that was just terrible tasting even after about a week, but after sitting 3 months was like an entirely new cigar and I enjoy them now. Not sure what was going on with them. Draw, burn and construction were perfect so i don't think the rh was too high from the vendor, as others from the same order were fine. Weird

Fwiw, it was the DE Factory Smokes Sungrowns that I'm referring to.

What are your criteria for wanting to see if time makes a difference?

Very curious how you decide between right away, and over an extended period.

Would be a good learning experience for me

Lol, definitely envy those of you with enough cigars that you can lose/forget about entire boxes for years, and dont really know what all you have.

Even with my memory damage, and a little help from my inventory app, i know exactly what I have and exactly where it is, as i have 2, 74qt tupperdors and 5 of the larger Sistema tupperdors and 2 of the smaller ones, so without my app i can pretty well remember what I have but wouldnt know quantity or location without the app.

It would drive me nuts not knowing all that. Lol

    I friggin love cigars

I know about 80% of what I have. There are a few that get misremembered but not enough it affects me. I most know if I have had it or bought it before. Remembering what I have sent out is harder.

When I first started enjoying cigars I would buy a sampler and smoke them right away. Over time I started saving more cigars then smoking them. As I pulled some of the older ones out I realized that the profile, not on all of them, had changed for both the better and worse. This peaked my interest so I tend to smoke one ROTT (or within a couple of days) and save a few for later to see if there is any difference. Perfect example (in my opinion which is worth less then $.02) are the Liga Privada. They need to be smoked relatively quickly. They tend to lose almost all their profile after 6 months of resting.
